Congratulations Meadows Elementary School 2025 California Distinguished School |

Greetings Meadows Community, It is with great excitement that I share the news that Meadows Elementary School has been named a 2025 California Distinguished School! To select California Distinguished Schools, the California Department of Education uses multiple measures to identify eligible schools based on their performance on the state indicators and reported out via the California School Dashboard. Meadows’ progress reported for the 2024-2025 school year under the leadership of Catherine Waslif demonstrated significant gains and led our school to be named one of only 293 schools in California receiving this award, including 18 schools in San Mateo county. As we all know, the growth of students is a collective effort, so join me in celebrating the following individuals and teams: Catherine Waslif: for her instructional leadership, passion, and belief in students and staff, and her continued dedication to our district through her role as Director of Educational Services. This award was achieved under her leadership! Kellie Zahursky: for your welcoming presence and your daily care and concern for everyone who enters the office Teachers: for your continued commitment and efforts supporting our students and increasing their achievement post-pandemic Paraeducators and Support Staff: for the one-to-one and small group support you provide our students Alfredo Melendrez, Bryan Nutting: for your care for our campus and our students which contributes to a positive learning environment for all Special Education and Behavior Support Team: for your presence on our campus and direct support of students and teachers District Office Team and Superintendent Hickey: for your support of our school, students, and employees Parents and Families: You are your child’s first teachers. We thank you for all you do to promote and support learning and for trusting us with your treasured children. We appreciate your dedication, your volunteer time, and the sense of community you provide that makes Meadows an extraordinary place to be! And finally, but most importantly, congratulations to our Meadows students! We are excited to see your learning celebrated, and we are honored to be a part of your educational journey.
